For instance, a 4-inch thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. to pack it down 1 inch and return to its full 4-inch thickness has a 33 lb. compression rating or (ild) - indention load deflection.
All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard, and should not be opened with a box cutter. Instead, use a ballpoint pen or a pencil to make a small incision and break it from there. High-density foam is known for its durability, lasting 7 to 10 years, and is used for firmness yet relaxable cushions.
